Police Arrest Sunset Park Man In Stabbing Death Of His Neighbor

Police arrested 35-year-old Lan Shui Liu for allegedly stabbing a neighbor to death on Monday night, February 15, in front of 5622 Eighth Avenue.

The victim, 41-year-old Jian-Yang Zhang of 62nd Street, was stabbed in the back and neck when EMS responded to a 9-1-1 call at 10:05pm. Zhang was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center, but pronounced dead within minutes of arrival.

According to police, the investigation is active and ongoing. Liu faces charges of second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
