Police Arrest Couple Suspected Of South Slope Kidnapping Attempt

SOUTH SLOPE – Police have arrested the man and woman suspected of attempting to kidnap a teenage girl in broad daylight in South Slope.

Police arrested 60-year-old Raymond Ortiz of Boerum Hill and 33-year-old Delgria Lynch of Gravesend. The two are being charged with second-degree attempted kidnapping, acting in a manner injurious to a child, and second-degree harassment.

At approximately 2:40pm on Friday, September 22 in front of 370 19th Street, a man and a woman in a SUV pulled up to a 15-year-old girl walking on the sidewalk.

While the woman chatted with the victim from the passenger seat of the car, the male suspect got out of the vehicle, grabbed the victim by the arm, and attempted to coax her into the car, police say.

The incident was captured on surveillance video. The victim was able to break free and get away.
