Poetry, Prose, and Prizes at the Brooklyn Public Library

Poetry, Prose, and Prizes at the Brooklyn Public Library
national poetry month

The Brooklyn Public Library is celebrating National Poetry Month with a teen writing contest. First, second, and third place prizes will be handed out to kids between the ages of 12 and 18 in two separate categories:

1. Poetry
2. Prose and Longer Works (short stories, reviews, news stories, rants, raves, everything else!)

No more than three entries per contestant may be submitted.

Works should be e-mailed to tzone@brooklynpubliclibrary.org. Be sure to title your e-mail “Writing Contest,” and include your name and age. Entries may also be submitted to your local teen librarian.

The contest ends on April 30, 2013.

Submitted works will be published on the Brooklyn Public Library’s teen website, and winners will be honored at a June 11 reception in the Central Library Trustees Room.

Best of luck to all of our young Brooklyn Whitmans!
