Looking for something fun to do with the whole family this week? From storytimes and crafts to live mariachi music and bird watching, there are a lot of great kid-friendly events coming up in our area:

Babies & Books
When: Wednesday, March 11, 10am
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Kids ages birth to 18 months and their guardians can enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes.
How much: Free, but you must pick up a ticket the morning of the program at the Children’s reference desk.

Rock With Adam
When: Wednesday, March 11, 10:30am
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: Are you ready to rock? Neighborhood kids are definitely in for a treat as guitarist Adam Blotner plays some of his favorite tunes.
How much: Free, but tickets are required for entry (one per family), so be sure to arrive early to score yours.

Folk Sing-A-Long With Katy Stone
When: Wednesday, March 11, 11:30am
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: After Rock With Adam wraps up, the library is getting folksy with Katy Stone. Geared toward children through age 5. As with the above performance, note that tickets are required, so be sure to arrive to the library early and secure your spot.
How much: Free!

Story Craft
When: Thursday, March 12, 3:30pm
Where: Pacific Library, 25 4th Avenue
What: Kids up to age 5 are welcome to hear a story, then make a craft inspired by it.
How much: Free!

Explore & Create: Arts And Crafts
When: Friday, March 13, 3:30pm
Where: Pacific Library, 25 4th Avenue
What: A weekly, free drop-in program where kids and teens can roll up their sleeves and explore their artistic side.
How much: Free!

Family Bird Watching
When: Saturday, March 14, 10am
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Join the Prospect Park Alliance and learn how to use binoculars, then join their naturalists to identify some of the 250 species of birds that call Prospect Park home. Please note that this tour leaves promptly at 10am.
How much: Free!

Story Play
When: Saturday, March 14, 10am
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Children from birth to age five and their caregivers are invited to hear a story and play with toys.
How much: Free!

Mariachi Real De Mexico
When: Saturday, March 14, 1pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Enjoy a rich repertoire of dance and mariachi music from the Mariachi Real de Mexico.
How much: Free!

Nature Playtime: Zoo
When: Sunday, March 8, 10:30am-12:30pm
Where: Prospect Park Zoo, 450 Flatbush Avenue
What: The Prospect Park Alliance, Prospect Park Zoo, and Tinkergarten are teaming up (with a little help from the Disney Conservation Fund) to bring families creative play opportunities in the park’s natural areas. Every Sunday through April, those visiting the Prospect Park Zoo will be able to take part in Nature Playtime! in the native plant garden. Look for nature-inspired art, insect observation, playing with snow, scavenger hunts, and more. Want to try some Nature Playtime activities on your own? Download a free activity card here.
