Looking for something fun to do with the whole family this week? From a kids movie festival to a soulful musical extravaganza to a family read aloud, there are a lot of great kid-friendly events coming up in our area:

Babies & Books
When: Wednesday, February 4, 10am
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Kids ages birth to 18 months and their guardians can enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes.
How much: Free, but you must pick up a ticket the morning of the program at the Children’s reference desk.

Rock With Adam
When: Wednesday, February 4, 10:30am
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: Are you ready to rock? Neighborhood kids are definitely in for a treat as guitarist Adam Blotner plays some of his favorite tunes.
How much: Free, but tickets are required for entry (one per family), so be sure to arrive early to score yours.

Storytime
When: Friday, February 6, 10am
Where: Postmark Cafe, 326 6th Avenue
What: A weekly storytime has returned to Postmark! Stop by every Friday for some free fun.
How much: Free, but there’s only space for 20 kids, so arrive early to ensure your spot.

BAMkids Film Festival
When: Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8, various times
Where: BAM Rose Cinemas, 30 Lafayette Avenue
What: The 17th annual film fest has a schedule of 74 total shorts and feature-length films from around the world. And after you check out a movie, head up to the BAMcafe for animation activities, magic shows, face-painting, balloon-making, lunch, and more.
How much: Free!

Story Play
When: Saturday, February 7, 10am
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Children from birth to age five and their caregivers are invited to hear a story and play with toys.
How much: Free!

Rabbit Gets Ready Storytime
When: Saturday, February 7, 11am
Where: Barnes & Noble, 267 7th Avenue
What: Join in on this storytime, which includes activities, featuring the tale of a rabbit who might not be ready for school in time if he keeps getting so distracted!
How much: Free!

Shine And The Moonbeams
When: Saturday, February 7, 1pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Get ready for a “soulful musical extravaganza that captures the sweetness, uncertainty and simplicity of youth” as Shine and the Moonbeams hit the stage.
How much: Free!

Family Read Aloud
When: Saturday, February 7, 3pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: It’s Take Your Child to the Library Week, so bring the kids down on a chilly afternoon and curl up with a few great books!
How much: Free!

Nature Playtime: Zoo
When: Sunday, January 18, 10:30am-12:30pm
Where: Prospect Park Zoo, 450 Flatbush Avenue
What: The Prospect Park Alliance, Prospect Park Zoo, and Tinkergarten are teaming up (with a little help from the Disney Conservation Fund) to bring families creative play opportunities in the park’s natural areas. Every Sunday through April, those visiting the Prospect Park Zoo will be able to take part in Nature Playtime! in the native plant garden. Look for nature-inspired art, insect observation, playing with snow, scavenger hunts, and more. Want to try some Nature Playtime activities on your own? Download a free activity card here.
