Looking for something fun to do with the whole family this week? See cookies multiply at a magic show, enjoy a sing-along with puppets, or learn to fish in Prospect Park! Details on those and more upcoming kid-friendly events:

Yellow Sneaker Sing-Along
When: Wednesday, August 19, 10am
Where: Tea Lounge, 837 Union Street
What: A 45-minute interactive singalong with puppets and guitar, combining original songs, oldies, and traditional children’s music that’s geared towards kids ages 0-5 and their families​.
How much: $5 per family.

Free Carousel Rides
When: Every Thursday in August, 12-6pm
Where: Prospect Park
What: Who doesn’t love a ride on the Prospect Park Carousel?! Every Thursday afternoon throughout the month of August, kids 12 and under are invited to hop on for free. Note that children must be accompanied by an adult.
How much: Free!

Amazing Ken
When: Thursday, August 21, 2:30pm
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: The Amazing Ken will present original magic — including producing a live rabbit and making chocolate chip cookies multiply! — with audience involvement and zany comedy.
How much: Free!

Family Fishing Night
When: Thursday, August 14, 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Learn how to tie a fishing knot, attach bait, and cast a line in this catch-and-release fishing class in Prospect Park. Families and children over the age of eight are welcome to participate. All equipment is provided. Reservations are required. Reserve your spot by calling 718-287-3400 x303 or email eschwartz@prospectpark.org.
How much: $5 per person, cash only.

Summer Strolls
When: Friday, August 22, 5-9pm
Where: 5th Avenue between Dean and Sterling
What: Lots of family-friendly fun to be had along 5th Avenue during this big neighborhood block party on Friday evening! Check out games, draw all over the street in chalk, play in an open fire hydrant, and more.
How much: Free!

Story Play
When: Saturday, August 23, 10am
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Kids up to age 5, with their caregivers, will hear stories and play with toys.
How much: Free!

Hometown Hero Storytime
When: Saturday, August 23, 2pm
Where: Barnes & Noble, 267 7th Avenue
What: Enjoy a reading of Richard Scarry’s Cars and Trucks and Things That Go, where the pig family head to the beach, and they encounter every vehicle known!
How much: Free!

Free Public Rowing
When: Saturday, August 23, 12-4pm
Where: Boat ramp on Well House Drive, Prospect Park
What: Take the kids for a boat ride around the Prospect Park Lake! The Prospect Park Alliance and the Village Community Boathouse are teaming up to make rowing accessible to all on select dates this summer, so paddle on over.
How much: Free!

History in Your Hands: Historic Games
When: Saturdays & Sundays in August, 2-4pm
Where: Lefferts Historic House, Prospect Park
What: Have the kids ever played 9-Man Morris? Well, they’ll learn how by making their own board, which they can take home to continue playing.
How much: $3 suggested donation.
