Got a kid who likes to sing and dance? We’ve got some fun musical events coming up this week, plus magic and a last chance to ride the carousel:
Musical Storytime With Suzi Shelton
When: Wednesday, November 6, 10:30am
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: Singer Suzi will be accompanied by percussionist Abby Levin, and there will be free take-home treats from 4 Wishes Cakery!
How much: Free!
City Stomp Dinner Show
When: Wednesday, November 6, 5pm (show at 5:45pm) & 6:30pm (show at 6:45pm)
Where: Dizzy’s Diner, 230 5th Avenue
What: After a summer hiatus, family music favorite City Stomp resumes its Wednesday dinner shows at Dizzy’s.
How much: Shows are free with a dinner reservation; call 718-230-5551 to reserve your table.
Dan Zanes Benefit Concerts
When: Saturday, November 9, 11am, 1:30pm, 4pm
Where: Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, 58 7th Avenue
What: A unique opportunity to hear Dan Zanes in concert. All proceeds will support the scholarship fund for Dan Zanes House Party: A Program of Songs and Stories from America’s Neighborhoods, a new music program for children at the Brooklyn Conservatory, which will launch in February 2014.
How much: $15, available in advance
Dikki’s Wacky Magic Show
When: Saturday, November 9, 1pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Through audience participation, surprises and fun, Dikki makes the impossible become believable. There’s lots of magic, music, and mayhem, and fun for all ages.
How much: Free!
Hip Tot Fest: Rolie Polie Guacamole
When: Sunday, November 10, 11am
Where: Shapeshifter Lab, 18 Whitwell Place
What: Brooklyn favorites Rolie Polie Guacamole will be singing about eating healthy and staying active, storyteller Melanie Hope Greenberg will be reading her book Supermarket, and KidVentures NYC will be on hand to do crafts.
How much: $10 in advance, $15 at the door, non-walkers are free
Last Chance To Ride The Carousel
When: Monday, November 11, 12-5pm
Where: Prospect Park Carousel
What: This is the last weekend (and Monday the last day, because of the Veterans Day holiday) to take a ride on the historic carousel before it shuts down for the winter, only to reopen in April.
How much: $2 per ride, $9 for a book of 5 tickets
