Learn How To Knit

Where: Kensington Library, 4207 18th Avenue
What: All kids are invited to learn how to knit and make cool gifts for themselves, friends and family. Class size is limited. Please pick up a ticket at the children’s reference desk.

Summer Reading Kickoff And Superhero Training Camp

What: Kensington Library will launch its summer reading program with free entertainment and activities for the whole family.

Jam With The Dad Beats

What: Made up of three real-live Brooklyn dads (and neighbors), The Dad Beats traverse surf, rock and country grooves to deliver playful reimaginings of your childhood favorites.

Super Readers Assemble! Summer Reading Kickoff
When: Thursday, June 4, 2-4pm
Where: Windsor Terrace Library, 160 E. 5th Street, by Fort Hamilton Parkway
What: The library’s summer reading open house will include bubbles and a pin wheel craft.

Nature Exploration
When: Thursdays & Fridays, 12-4pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Families can enjoy a variety of activities, from games for bird nerds to Citizen Science projects to a chance to meet a resident snake.

Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Disco
When: Friday, June 5, 7:30-10pm
Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park
What: Get out all your neon for this 80s roller disco event, which will include dazzling performers, kitschy contests, giveaways, and, of course, a whole lot of music and roller skating!
How much: $18 per person, which includes event admission and skate rentals
Pop-Up Audubon
When: Saturdays & Sundays, 11am-4pm
Where: Eastwood, Prospect Park
What: This month, through hikes, birding tours, and more, families will get to know a thing or two about the wonderful warblers that visit the park at this time of year.
How much: Free!
Nature Exploration
When: Saturdays & Sundays, 10am-1pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Much like on the weekdays, families can enjoy a variety of activities, including bird watching, nature-based projects, and more.

Kids Yoga With Yoga Jen
When: Sunday, June 7, 10am
Where: Lark Cafe, 1007 Church Avenue
What: Come dance, play and move into animal poses during this 35-minute class with your little one. Space is limited, and it’s first-come, first-served. Contact instructor Jen Pinna at gamm57@aol.com for more information.

Toddler Tuesdays
When: Tuesday, June 9, 9:30am
Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park
What: Enjoy some toddler-only dedicated skate time on the rink, as kids ages 2-5 and their caregivers will skate to instructor-led games, music, play-based activities — plus there are snacks and beverages.
How much: $15 for one child and accompanying adult; adult skate rentals are $5 (kid skate and helmet rentals are included). Tickets available in advance.
Sing-Along With Miss Katie
When: Tuesday, June 9, 11am
Where: Lark Cafe, 1007 Church Avenue
What: Singing a mix of classic kid favorites and rare folk gems, Miss Katie is known for bringing the sing-along fun to Brooklyn families! As one parent put it, “Miss Katie knows how to connect with caregivers, parents and children to bring out the rhythm in all of us.”
