‘The Taming Of The Shrew’ In Prospect Park
When: Tuesday, June 30, and Wednesday, July 1, 7-9pm
Where: Prospect Park’s Grand Army Plaza
What: Introduce your kids to Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew,” which will be presented for free by the New York Classical Theater.

Watch Free Screening Of Disney’s ‘Big Hero 6’
When: Wednesday, July 1, 1:30-3:30pm
Where: Windsor Terrace Library, 160 E. 5th Street, by Fort Hamilton Parkway
What: Bring your kids to a free showing of Disney’s “Big Hero 6,” one of a series of films the library will be showing throughout July.

Kids Create: Kids Knit Now!

What: Kids can learn how to knit & make cool gifts for themselves, friends and family. The class size is limited; please pick up a ticket at the children’s reference desk.

Jam With The Dad Beats

What: Made up of three real-live Brooklyn dads (and neighbors), The Dad Beats traverse surf, rock and country grooves to deliver playful reimaginings of your childhood favorites.

Nature Exploration

Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Families can enjoy a variety of activities, from games for bird nerds to Citizen Science projects to a chance to meet a resident snake.

Sing-Along With Lucy Kalantari
When: Thursday, July 2, 4pm
Where: ELK Coffee, 154 Prospect Park Southwest
What: Join neighbor Lucy Kalantari as she sings and plays the ukulele! This is a wonderful event for kids and caregivers alike.

Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Disco
When: Friday, July 3, 7:30-10pm
Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park
What: Get out your best disco gear for Lola Star’s “Saturday Night Fever” roller skating party, which will include dazzling performers, kitschy contests, giveaways, and more.
How much: $18 per person, which includes event admission and skate rentals
Lavender Blues Sing-Along
When: Saturday, July 3, 9:30 & 10:30
Where: Lark Cafe, 1007 Church Avenue
What: Bring your babies and toddlers to the Lavender Blues sing-along, when the kids will have a blast singing, playing instruments, dancing, and playing with a ginormous parachute!

Nature Exploration
When: Saturdays & Sundays, 10am-1pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Much like on the weekdays, families can enjoy a variety of activities, including bird watching, nature-based projects, and more.

Pop-Up Audubon
When: Saturdays & Sundays, 11am-4pm
Where: Eastwood, Prospect Park
What: This month, through hikes, birding tours, and more, families will get to know a thing or two about the wonderful warblers that visit the park at this time of year.

Fishing Clinic
When: Saturday, July 4, 1-2pm &3-4pm
Where: Prospect Park Peninsula
What: This clinic offers kids ages 15 and under the opportunity to fish, learn about aquatic ecology, fishing safety, and collecting their own bait. This is run on a first-come, first-served basis.

Celebrate Independence Day In Prospect Park
When: Saturday, July 4, 2-5pm
Where: Lefferts Historic House, 452 Flatbush Avenue
What: Celebrate America’s birthday by making yourself a plumed hat to wear while signing your own “John Hancock” on a reproduction of the Declaration of Independence.
How much: $3 suggested donation
Toddler Tuesdays
When: Tuesday, July 7, 9:30am
Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park
What: Enjoy some toddler-only dedicated skate time on the rink, as kids ages 2-5 and their caregivers will skate to instructor-led games, music, play-based activities — plus there are snacks and beverages.
How much: $15 for one child and accompanying adult; adult skate rentals are $5 (kid skate and helmet rentals are included). Tickets available in advance.
Sing-Along With Amy Miles
When: Tuesday, July 7, 10am
Where: ELK Coffee, 154 Prospect Park Southwest
What: Join Amy Miles — who you may have seen on PBS’ “Lomax the Hound of Music” or Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls — for fun renditions (there are puppets and bubbles!) of well-known songs on guitar, ukulele and more.

Sing-Along With Miss Katie
When: Tuesday, July 7, 11am

What: Singing a mix of classic kid favorites and rare folk gems, Miss Katie is known for bringing the sing-along fun to Brooklyn families! As one parent put it, “Miss Katie knows how to connect with caregivers, parents and children to bring out the rhythm in all of us.”
