Plants, Food, Live Music & More At 6/15 Green Harvest Festival This Saturday
Ready your garden for the spring, enjoy some baked goods, and socialize with neighbors at the annual 6/15 Green Harvest Festival, taking place this Saturday, October 18 from 11am to 5pm at the community garden on the corner of 6th Avenue and 15th Street.
This celebration of the season is an annual neighborhood highlight. It’s free and anyone can stop by to buy some seasonal plants and bulbs (which they promise will be available at bargain basement prices), and enjoy treats at the bake sale, performances by several musical groups throughout the day, activities for children and adults, and even some yoga sessions. Plus, there will be a community potluck dinner in the late afternoon — visitors are asked to bring food to share.
All sales of plants and baked goods go directly to support the garden, which was founded in 1994 and continues to welcome visitors to its serene space during open hours, and has over 100 active local members.
