Photo Flashback: Before The Prospect Park YMCA
Before the towering YMCA building was built on 9th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenue, a collection of wood-frame homes stood. The above photograph, dated December 16, 1914 by the Brooklyn Public Library, shows 351, 353, and 355 9th Street, which were all purchased by the YMCA in order to make room for their new building.
In the lower right corner of the photo, you can also catch a glimpse of the old 5th Avenue trolley tracks.
