Photo Flashback: 5th Avenue And 12th Street
The New York Public Library has a fantastic shot of 5th Avenue and 12th Street, which they say was taken in 1941. A dairy and grocery operated out of the spot where Commonwealth now sits, and the mid-block building that is home to Mandee appears to have been a gigantic furniture store.
We can’t help but wonder if the neighboring building’s multi-story addition is hiding an impressive Michaels & Co ghost sign…
