Photo: Firefighters Respond To Smoke Conditions On Ocean Parkway, Near Brighton Beach Ave

Firefighters are currently at the scene of 3049 Ocean Parkway, where a suspected electrical fire broke out in the basement, filling the building with smoke.

Calls came over the radio shortly after noon, indicating that smoke conditions were present throughout the building.

Sheepshead Bites reader Brian Hoyt was nearby, and sent in the above photo, noting, “Looks like the fire is in the Methodist hospital outpatient building. You can smell that it’s electrical. No one seems to be in too big a hurry though, so I doubt anyone is hurt.”
