Photo Finish: On the Hunt For French Fries

Local wildlife has taken advantage of the warming temperatures by staying active late into the evening. (Photo by Francisco Daum)

A spell of summer-like heat and humidity may have kept some people from coming out to Fort Greene Park this week, but that wasn’t the case for local wildlife, which took advantage of the warm evenings to look for food. While many birds and squirrels — like this guy, photographed by Francisco Daum — found seeds and bugs to munch, others made haste to snatch up french fries found in and near park garbage cans.

What’s the oddest thing you’ve ever seen an animal eating in the park?
