Pharmacy Coming To Former Odd Twin Space On 5th Avenue
A sign is up at 164 5th Avenue, on the corner of Degraw, announcing that a pharmacy will be opening in the space this spring. Construction is underway, and according to applications filed with the Department of Buildings, they’ll be redoing the front of the store as part of this work.
The space was most recently home to vintage shop Odd Twin, which closed in September after owner Francesca Neville decided to focus on being a full-time mom. After it closed, a ghost sign for Sea View, a videos and games sale and rental shop that closed around 1999, a appeared under the awning.
According to our very unscientific poll, most of the respondents were hoping a bookstore might move into this space. So how does everyone feel about having a pharmacy here instead? Though 7th Avenue has plenty, 5th doesn’t — are you glad you won’t have to walk up the hill to grab prescriptions?
