Pet Spotlight: Benny the Hound
You can hear one of Benny’s distinctive howls before you see him on a walk in Fort Greene.
“He likes to howl,” said his owner Robby Entrekin, 30, as Benny bayed at a nearby squirrel. “Dogs, cats, people. It’s not aggressive, more like hey, hey, hey.”
Luckily, Entrekin said, Benny doesn’t bark in the house.
Entrekin and his partner, who live in Clinton Hill, adopted Benny last summer from Animal Haven, a shelter in SoHo. The shelter told them he was a foxhound mix, but they suspect he might have some beagle in him as well.
“We had intended to be methodical about it, but he was coming in from a walk and ran right up to Aaron,” Entrekin said. “And that was it.”
Benny quickly made himself at home with his new owners.
“He is the biggest bed-hog,” Entrekin said. “He’ll push you right off.”
