Peek Inside Norman & Jules, The New 7th Avenue Toy Store
The storefront formerly occupied by The Park Florist didn’t stay vacant long. Three months later, eclectic, handcrafted toy store Norman & Jules has taken up residence.
Husband and wife team Courtney Ebner and Avi Kravner, along with their 2-year-old daughter Charlie, pet Chihuahua Addi, and a 20-foot long stuffed toy snake, have put together a beautiful collection of non-electronic children’s toys. On the shelves you’ll find a wide range of items, like Grimms Blocks, Chewbeads, Eco-kids face paints and inventive and beautiful mobiles.
The theme? These are toys that encourage little ones to create. The shop concentrates on “open-ended” toys, things that tap into kids’ imagination and grow with them.
For Courtney and Avi, having a shop of their own is a dream come true. And their daughter doesn’t seem to mind, either.
Bottom line, the mom-and-pop store has a wide variety of high-quality toys. It’s a great place to pick up gifts for a baby shower or a last minute something for the nine-year-old in your life. Plus, they’re donating a percentage of their sales to the March of Dimes.
Norman & Jules is located at 158 7th Avenue, and is open every day from 9am to 7:30pm.
