Passover, the holiday that commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt, begins the evening of Monday, March 26, and two synagogues in our area are hosting events:

Second-Night Community Seder
Temple Beth Emeth, 83 Marlborough Rd
Tuesday, March 25
The seder includes a full kosher-style meal, catered by Tastebud Events, the company owned by Chelsi and Graham Meyerson, who used to own Picket Fence. The haggadah used is called “The Open Door,” and “is a modern, accessible, interesting way to experience the Passover seder,” says Rabbi Heidi Hoover, who lead the seder with their cantor, Nonie Schuster Donato. The cost is $50 per person.

East Midwood Jewish Center, 1625 Ocean Avenue
Thursday, March 28, 4:30-7:30pm
EMJC POLO presents a Passover Matzo Pizza Party, where they will provide for fun, family-centered Passover activities, and then you can make and enjoy your own kosher-for-Passover matzo pizza and macaroons. It’s $5 per person, and children 2 and under are free.
