Park Slope Veterinary Care Moving Into Long-Empty Space Down The Block On 5th Ave

The boarded-over storefront at 417 5th Avenue has seen a lot of work recently, as it’s being restored to an office space best suited to fit the Park Slope Veterinary Care, which will be relocating from its space a couple doors down at 413 5th Ave.

The last thing we can think of that was using that space was a few years ago when it was the butcher shop Great Western Fine Foods. A little searching reveals that it may have been a butcher for a long time before that, as well, as this photo from the city archives from the 1980s shows. Anyone remember these butcher shops, or anything else that has been in this space?
