Thanksgiving is coming up on Thursday, November 27 — but even with more than two weeks to go, pre-orders for turkeys are well underway. If you’re looking for the perfect bird for your family meal, we’ve rounded up some options:

DiPaola Turkey Farm
Where: Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, pick up Saturday, November 22
What: Turkeys are ordered by size category as follows: 12-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-22, 23-25, 26-28, and 29+ pounds, at $3.59 per pound. They will also take orders for bone-in turkey breasts: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11+ pounds, at $7.29 per pound.
Bonus: If you forget any of your meal’s fixings, the GAP Greenmarket will be open a bonus day, on Wednesday, November 26.
Order: Email your order request to dipaolaturkey@gmail.com, or call 609-587-9311 Monday-Friday between 10am-1pm.

Fleisher’s
Where: 192 5th Avenue, pick up Monday-Wednesday the week of Thanksgiving
What: Now taking orders for a limited supply of pasture-raised, certified organic turkeys on a first-come, first-serve basis — if you’re interested, don’t delay, they tend to sell out fast, particularly on smallest and largest sizes. Weight ranges are 8-12, 13-16, ad 17-20 pounds, at $7.99 per pound; they’re also offering bone-in whole breast ($11.99/lb), bone-in half breast ($11.99/lb), boneless half breast ($14.99/lb) and drumsticks in a 2-pack ($6.99/lb).
Bonus: They’ve also got meaty accoutrements like brining mix, sage sausage for stuffing, thermometers, turkey stock, and more.
Order: Visit the shop to fill out an order form, or call the Turkey Hotline to speak with Sophie at 718-971-5331 (option 4). The cut-off for turkey orders is Monday, November 17.

Park Slope Food Coop
Where: 192 5th Avenue, pick up starting November 19 through Thanksgiving
What: They note that every fresh turkey they sell is slaughtered on approximately the same day, so waiting doesn’t get you a fresher bird. The small sizes go especially fast, so plan ahead by checking their list of turkey purveyor arrivals.
Bonus: Yes, you have to be a member to score one of these birds, and yes it will get crazy closer to the holiday, but the Coop’s newsletter has some tips on making the experience less stressful. Also, they’ll be open on Thanksgiving Day from 8am-2:30pm.
Order: No advance ordering, no turkey reservations. All turkeys are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Union Market
Where: 754 Union Street & 402 7th Avenue
What: With several fresh varieties available from a few producers — Bell and Evans ($1.99/lb), Hidden Camp Farm ($3.99/lb), Wise (kosher and organic, $4.99/lb) — this is a good option if you’re looking for a fancier bird than what might be available at the Key Food, but you don’t want to break the bank. Specific sizes are limited, so order soon if you want a smaller turkey; but they will have extras available to buy at the case if you don’t pre-order.
Bonus: They’ve got some tips on how to roast the perfect turkey.
Order: Call Union St at 718-230-5152 or 7th Ave at 718-499-4026, or stop into one of the stores. Orders must be placed by Monday, November 24.
