Park Slope Takes Home Several Greenest Block In Brooklyn Mentions
Congratulations are in order for a few Park Slope blocks and windows, which were presented awards in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden 2014 Greenest Block in Brooklyn contest. We all know we’ve got a neighborhood full of colorful streetscape gardening, beautifully maintained trees, and stoops lined with potted greenery, but it’s always wonderful to see our neighbors’ hard work acknowledged.
Pictured above is Sterling Place between Flatbush and 7th Avenues, submitted to the contest by the Sterling Place Block Association, which tied for 3rd place in the Residential Category.
Here’s 8th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues, entered by the 8th Street Block Association and recipient of honorable mention in the Residential Category.
Another Residential Category honorable mention went to 8th Street between 8th Avenue and Prospect Park West, entered by the 8th Street Block Association (8th Avenue-PPW).
And the 5th Line Studio at 145 Sterling Place, entered by the Sterling Place Block Association, took home an honorable mention for Best Window Box.
You can see the complete list of winning blocks, businesses, window boxes, and more — including a special honor for 6/15 Green in South Slope — here.
Congrats to all the winners, and thank you for keeping our neighborhood so green!
