Sponsored by the Park Slope 5th Avenue BID, the event brought out dozens of spectators to the eatery, located on the corner of 5th and Saint Marks Avenue, to cheer on the nine contestants.

Returning champ Patrick Garcia was on-hand to defend his title, alongside eight other competitive eaters coming from a few blocks away to as far as Staten Island, North Carolina, and even Texas. Garcia won last year’s contest by polishing off a pint of ice cream in 2 minutes and 23 seconds.

Garcia was beat out this year by Park Slope resident Dan Erdheim, who managed to pack away his pint in a new record time of 1 minute 41 seconds (!), earning himself a specially designed plaque and a $100 gift certificate.

Garcia came in second, clocking in at a still impressive 2 minutes 53 seconds. Zeeshan Quadar took third place at 3 minutes 54 seconds.

Second and third place winners received a gift certificate for a free class at Pinot’s Palette.

Congratulations to all the winners and see you next year!
