Park Slope Planner: The Best Events October 25-28

With so much to do in Park Slope each weekend, we’ve made it easy to schedule your calendar. These are the best bets for fun in the neighborhood this weekend:

Thursday, October 25

• They opened for the Sex Pistols’ last show, and now San Francisco punk legends The Avengers are at Littlefield at 8pm. Tickets $12, plus service fee

Friday, October 26

• See the seven-member, all-female mariachi band Mariachi Flor de Toloache (pictured above) cast a spell over the audience “like the legendary and magical Toloache flower that is still being used in Mexico as a love potion.” They’re at Barbès at 10pm. Tickets $10 strongly suggested donation

Saturday, October 27

• As part of the Central Library’s exhibition Fashion Illustration: A Contemporary Look, hear a discussion about Antonio Lopez, a famous fashion illustrator of the ’70s and ’80s. His biographers and his model/lead hair and makeup person will be on hand in the Dweck Center at 4pm. Free

• The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music is hosting a benefit for ICE High School at 5pm, to help students be able to perform their original songs at an event in Munich in January. Roy Nathanson and the Jazz Passengers join the students and a number of other performers for a great night of music. Tickets $37 in advance, $39 at the door

Sunday, October 28

• Storytellers, comedians, sex educators and others will share true tales from their own experiences of sex, desire and romance for the Bare! Birthday Blowout at Union Hall at 8pm. One audience member will have a chance to tell their own story on stage, and another will win a raffle with some fun stuff courtesy of Babeland. Tickets $10 plus service fee
