Memory Holes: Unrestricted Self-Authorship, Memory Manipulation, And The Law

What: The monthly series Brooklyn Public Philosophers presents Anna Gotlib of Brooklyn College, who will discuss a culture that’s obsessed with memory — and especially with losing it.

Night Train 2-Year Anniversary Show
When: Monday, November 24, 8pm
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: The monthly comedy series hosted by Wyatt Cenac turns two tonight, and they’re celebrating with free pie! And a great line-up that includes: Jen Kirkman, Michelle Buteau, Jordan Carlos, Emmett Montgomery, Seaton Smith, Kenny DeForest, and Uncle Majic.

What: If you need to escape the relatives — or you’ve got some smart ones visiting from out of town — this could be the Thanksgiving Eve place for you. Teams of up to 6 people can win $50 in prizes, plus prizes from Brooklyn Brewery.

What: 3DPrinterOS and Brooklyn Public Library will be sponsoring a session on creating your first 3D print. If you’re brand new to 3D printing, you’ll get a chance to learn how the hardware, software, and entire process works.

Festive Fifth
When: Saturday, November 29, 6:30-9pm
Where: Corner of 5th Ave and 3rd St
What: The annual tree lighting kicks off festivities that include hot chocolate, live music, games, puppetry, deals at local shops, and, of course, a visit from Santa.

The Wonderful World Of Boning: Sex Ed With A Sense Of Humor
When: Sunday, November 30, 8pm

What: Writer, sex educator, and funny lady Lux Alptraum teams up with comedian friends to take a tour of classic sex education videos — featured this month are Josh Gondelman and Aparna Nancherla.
