If you’re on the hunt for something fun to do this weekend, we’ve got some great suggestions close to home, from a chance to see an unusual museum and drink some free gin, to a dance class at the library, to an opportunity to wail on some giant stuffed animals and huge piñatas. Details on those and more events below.

How I Learned It’s Not Me, It’s You (Or Maybe It’s Me)
When: Thursday, November 20, 8pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: Writers, storytellers, comics, and other raconteurs share lessons learned, unlearned, relearned, or in progress. This month features Tara Clancy, Jen Doll, Andy Ross, Lukas Kaiser, Michelle Onufrak, and is hosted by Blaise Allysen Kearsley.
How much: $10 at the door.

Kings Of Karaoke
When: Thursday, November 20, 10:30pm
Where: The Rock Shop, 249 4th Avenue
What: It’s going to be cold tonight, so head out to the bar and choose something with a chilly edge to sing — maybe Foreigner’s Cold as Ice? Hazy Shade of Winter by the Bangles? Either way, the audience wins.
How much: Free!

Shape Up NYC: Cardio Toning
When: Friday, November 21, 12pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Shape up your core with a free cardio class in Prospect Park that will combine strength, balance, and toning exercises. No reservation is required, but it is recommended that you bring a workout mat.
How much: Free.

Tango Lessons
When: Saturday, November 22, 10am-12pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Learn the fundamentals of one of a dramatic dance at this fun, informal series from the IATI Theater. Lessons are in English and Spanish, and there are two sessions: 10-11am is for beginners, and 11am-12pm is for advanced dancers.
How much: Free, but space is limited, so arrive early, and bring your library card for admission.

Introduction To Birdwatching
When: Saturday, November 22, 12pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: It’s migration season! The Brooklyn Bird Club will show you around and point out some of the more than 250 species of birds that call the park home, or are just passing through.
How much: Free!

Beat It!
When: Saturday, November 22, 1-4pm
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: This weather got you down? Feeling a little stressed? Why not beat some oversized stuffed animals and giant piñatas with foam bats?! Throughout this interactive art installation from Jo Firestone of Punderdome 3000, there will be special events, including a self-defense workshop taught by Laurel Leckert and an ongoing DJ set by DJ Forcemeat.
How much: Free!

End-Of-Exhibition Open House & Party
When: Sunday, November 23, 11am-10pm
Where: The Morbid Anatomy Museum, 424 3rd Avenue
What: If you haven’t seen this new, slightly unusual museum yet, this is a great chance — it’ll be free and open to the public for the entire day, with museum tours, short illustrated talks, taxidermy and hairwork demonstrations, screenings, and a reception/afterparty at 7:30pm that promises free gin and a live DJ.
How much: Free!

Discussion: Cult Films & Food Injustice
When: Sunday, November 23, 7pm
Where: Interference Archive, 131 8th Street #4
What: The classic sci-fi film Soylent Green will be the launching point for a discussion about criminal and food injustice, led by Kevin Quirolo
