Looking for something fun to do this weekend? From a free concert of Memphis soul, to an art opening, to stand-up comedy, there are some great events coming up around the neighborhood. Details on those and more:

Vaneese Thomas
When: Thursday, February 5, 7pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Enjoy a taste of Memphis soul and R&B with Vaneese Thomas is “a soulful songstress who embodies the spirit of all the great women of soul.”
How much: Free, but RSVPs will get seated first.

Comedy Show
When: Thursday, February 5, 10pm
Where: V-Spot, 156 5th Avenue
What: The monthly comedy show is back at the local vegan restaurant. Performing tonight are Joey Gay, Charles McBee, Jason Taylor, Marie Faustin, John Moses, Brendan Fitzgibbons, and it’s hosted by Alex Carabano.
How much: No cover.

Shape Up NYC: Cardio Toning
When: Friday, February 6, 12pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Shape up your core with a free cardio class in Prospect Park that will combine strength, balance, and toning exercises. No reservation is required, but it is recommended that you bring a workout mat.
How much: Free!

Art Reception: Seeing Stories
When: Friday, February 6, 6pm
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: Check out the opening of the February exhibition by Alma Sheppard-Matsuo, a Brooklyn-based illustrator and designer.
How much: Free!

Opera On Tap: New Brew Goes To Michigan
When: Friday, February 6, 8pm
Where: Barbes, 376 9th Street
What: New Brew will share their love of the Wolverine State with a program of music from, about, or related to the Great State of Michigan, featuring selections by their very own Christopher Berg, William Bolcom, William Flanagan, Irving Berlin, and many more. Michigan’s Bell’s Brewery will be on hand with discounted drink offerings and other fun goodies throughout the show.
How much: $10 strongly suggested donation.

Tango Workshops
When: Saturday, February 7, 10am-12pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Learn the fundamentals of one of a dramatic dance at this fun, informal series from the IATI Theater. Lessons are in English and Spanish, and there are two sessions: 10-11am is for beginners, and 11am-12pm is for advanced dancers.
How much: Free, but space is limited, so arrive early, and bring your library card for admission.

10th Annual Seed Celebration And Swap
When: Saturday, February 7, 10am-3pm
Where: The Old Stone House, 336 5th Avenue
What: Bring some seeds to trade with other gardeners, or buy some in preparation for spring — there will be seeds available for purchase from Hudson Valley Seed Library and Fedco. There will also be demonstrations on starting seed and transplanting seedlings, sprouting greens, seed cleaning, making seed balls, and how to make compost.
How much: Free!

Spark
When: Sunday, February 8, 8pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: A night of “music & comedy & seriousness” hosted by Shannon Manning and featuring Griffin Newman, Carolyn Castiglia, Jeremy Ladd, Kelly Irene Corson, Soap, Nate Heller, Cara Reedy, Max Rosenthal, and some surprise guests.
How much: $5 in advance, $7 day-of.
