The weather is only getting warmer, and this weekend looks like it should be a nice one to get out and about in the neighborhood. If you’re looking for something to do close to home this weekend, there’s a ton of music to check out, from a composer performing at The Old Stone House, to a weekend full of folk. Details on those events and more:

Musical Ecologies: Mary Jane Leach
When: Thursday, April 17, 8-10pm
Where: The Old Stone House, 336 3rd Street
What: Hear the composer/performer whose work reveals a fascination with the physicality of sound, its acoustic properties and how they interact with space, for a result that’s striking music which has a powerful effect on listeners.
How much: $10 suggested donation

Easter Is For Lovers Party
When: Friday, April 18, 7pm
Where: Babeland, 462 Bergen Street
What: Celebrate the Easter rabbit — wait, not that one. This party is all about the Rabbit Habit Vibrator, with a

mini-workshop featuring tips to add some sex appeal to your holiday. One customer will win a Rabbit, and everyone else wins anyway, as Polish Bar of Brooklyn is providing free pastel manicures.

Brooklyn Folk Festival
When: Friday, April 18 – Sunday, April 20
Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: The three-day festival is back with 30 bands, vocal and instrumental workshops, a family-friendly square dance, film screenings, a Banjo Toss contest (really) and more!
How much: $75 for a three-day pass, tickets also available for partial or full days.

Donate To The Park Slope Library Book Sale
When: Saturday, April 19, 10am-4pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: Bring gently used books of all genres, CDs, and DVDs to the library for the book sale, which is coming up on on Saturday, April 26 from 10am-5pm (free), with preview sale on Thursday, April 24, from 5-7pm (which has a $10 entry fee). J-Music Night: Combat Jazz With Blue Muse Dance NY
When: Saturday, April 19, 8pm
Where: J-LABO, 300 7th Street
What: Enjoy music and dance (and beer and sake) as part of an art exhibition featuring mixed media pieces by Yuichi Sugai and video art installations by Miho Morita.

Anacortes With Melinda May And Mississippi Cotten
When: Saturday, April 19, 8pm
Where: Tea Lounge, 837 Union Street
What: Hear the telecaster-driven, unassuming, passionate sound of anacortes, and pick up a copy of their new album — 10% of album sales in the month of April will benefit Pancreatic Cancer Research via The Lustgarten Foundation, in honor of one of the member’s fathers. Opening are Melinda May and Mississippi Cotten.
