Park Slope Open House Picks

Looking for a new place to call home? We’ve rounded up a few places that are for sale and are hosting open houses this weekend, and have broken down the offerings below. What do you think?

140 8th Avenue #1M
Open House: Sunday, January 11, 12-1:30pm
List Price: $499,000, $778 maintenance
Details: This one-bedroom near Montgomery Place combines the convenience of city living with the more suburban-ness of a ground floor residence — and while some might consider first-floor life a viewless burden, we suspect a certain amount of prospective buyers will see an accessible plus (both in terms of stairs and price). Besides that, maintenance includes all utilities but gas, the building is pet friendly, there’s a communal laundry room, and bike storage is available.

759 President Street #4A
Open House: Sunday, January 11, 12:30-3pm
List Price: $572,000, $932.78 maintenance
Details: This big, bright one-bed between 6th and 7th Avenues is for sale by owner. This one is on the top floor, and has a communal roof area (view pictured above) and courtyard as well as the option of private roof space. There’s a laundry room on the same floor as the unit, and pets are allowed, too.

525 5th Street #3R
Open House: Saturday, January 10 and Sunday, January 11, both 12:30-2pm
List Price: $1,100,000, $545 maintenance
Details: This is a pretty, newly renovated three- (or even four-) bed/one-bath place between 7th and 8th Avenues, but the price is actually comparable to numerous two bedrooms we saw this week. There are laundry facilities in the unit itself, plus a nice open living/dining area, and what looks like all sorts of storage space.

12 Berkeley Place
Open House: Sunday, January 11, 12-2pm
List Price: $2,300,000
Details: This home between 5th and 6th Avenues is currently split into multiple units, which could be reversed in order to make a lovely one family home, or kept to help you pay off that mortgage for a while. It doesn’t look to have been renovated terribly recently — but the nice thing about that is you’ve still got some lovely details like picture moulding and inlaid floors, as well as a chance to put your own stamp on the place. Oh, and the garden is pretty fabulous, too.
