Pratt Area Community Council (PACC) is officially moving its community organizing arm to a new office next week, leaving its current 201 DeKalb Avenue space in Fort Greene for a larger one increasing its accessibility to tenants in Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights by filling a space at 1124 Fulton Street in Bed-Stuy.

The new space will not only allow community organizers the housing advocacy and tenants rights organization to have their own space, but will also “be more convenient for people to get to us” since many tenants served live closer to Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights, said Crystal Dixon, community and tenant organizer.

PACC’s other departments will continue to remain at 201 DeKalb Avenue in Fort Greene, where they own the building.

Homeowner Services and Financial Literacy services are available at 1224 Bedford Avenue, at the corner of Hancock. According to Michelle Etwaroo, events and communications manager, PACC has four offices, “but are trying to consolidate.”

Upcoming events that will be held after the move include a July 16 Tenants Rights Workshop focusing on rent laws (to be held at 226 Lefferts Place from 6-8pm), as well as monthly community meetings.

Information in this post has been edited to reflect the fact that only PACC’s community organizing department will be moving. Their main offices remain at 201 DeKalb Avenue.
