Opportunity Barks: The Great PUPkin Needs Volunteers
It’s officially fall, and we’re super excited for Halloween–in particular, for the annual Fort Greene PUPS Great PUPkin costume contest! The mind meltingly adorable gathering will take over the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument stairs at Fort Greene Park on Saturday, October 25 (registration at 11am, event at noon) during the Fort Greene Park Halloween Fest, and Fort Greene PUPS needs neighbors and local business owners to help make the PUPkin the best it can be.
PUPS’ Kath Hansen says the organization is hoping for help in putting fliers up around the neighborhood, setting up and breaking down on the day of the event, and securing prize donations from Fort Greene and Clinton Hill establishments. Last year’s awesome contest featured prizes from Thirst Wine Merchants, Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital, Brooklyn Cares Veterinary Clinic, Green in BKLYN, Madiba, Gnarly Vines, Clinton Hill Animal Clinic, Le Petit Bakery, Bittersweet, Olea, The Owl & the Pussycat Salon, and other generous borough businesses.
Also last year, the winners were two French Bulldogs dressed as (parts of?) a Sharknado. Don’t let this year’s contestants down.
