Opportunities for Artists

In addition to our own The Open Corner series, there are tons of great opportunities out there for neighborhood artists. Here’s a sampling with deadlines that are coming up:

Deadline: 3/30 (TODAY!)
The Arts and Culture Fest will take place on Saturdays starting April 21 at the outdoor plaza of the Parkside Avenue B/Q station. Market hours will run from 10am to 6pm, with setup at 8am. They’re seeking artists, crafters, designers, and vendors whose work includes fashion items, jewelry, paintings, prints, sculpture, home decor, photography, and crafts.

Prospect Park Craft Fair features local artists and crafts people who share and sell their handmade goods in the beautiful springtime park setting. Founded in 2007, proceeds from the event help support PS 154 in Windsor Terrace. The event is on Saturday, May 5, 10am-6pm, at the Bartel Pritchard entrance to Prospect Park.

Deadline: Ongoing, event on Sunday 5/6
Green-woodstock 2012, from the Friends of Greenwood Playground, is a day of music, food, and bargains. They welcome anyone from local artisans to stoop-salers to food vendors. If you are interested in renting a space, email to Alyson at greenwoodfriendsfunds@gmail.com. Spaces are $30, with an option to rent a table and chairs.

Deadline: Submit your work for consideration from 3/29 through 5/25, public voting begins 4/5
Art Takes Times Square will turn a dozen of the most iconic video billboards in Times Square into a larger than life gallery of art. Presented by chashama in collaboration with Times Square Alliance, and produced by Artists Wanted, Art Takes Times Square gives participants an opportunity to show their work on the glittering screens, win thousands of dollars, and be seen by millions.
