Operation DUMBO Drop: Thousands Of Toy Elephants Will Rain Down On Block Party
DUMBO – It’s going to rain elephants in DUMBO tomorrow!
The DUMBO Improvement District is hosting a new, annual block party on Washington Street on Thursday, September 28 from 5pm to 8pm. There will be food, music, activities, crafts, a silent auction, and even an after-party under the Archway.
The main event is scheduled for 6pm when thousands of toy elephants will parachute down from the rooftops onto the street. The Great DUMBO Drop is a fundraiser for two local schools—PS 307 and The Dock Street School.
For $20 participants can “adopt” a toy elephant which will be entered in the drop. The owner of the toy elephant that lands closest to a target on the ground will win a $500 neighborhood shopping spree! Participants get to take home a keepsake elephant after the event.
But hurry—all elephant entries must be adopted by 5pm today (September 27). Click here to adopt. No elephants will be available to purchase at tomorrow’s event.
