Work to continue to restore the operation of the Union Street Bridge over the Gowanus Canal has been delayed due to weather, but if conditions improve, expect some partial closures on the crossing over the next couple weeks.

Scheduled to start tonight, Tuesday, February 17 and continue through February 27, the NYC Department of Transportation Division of Bridges will be working on the bridge between 11pm and 5am the following morning.

The DOT says flaggers will be on hand to maintain traffic in the one open lane, and that the bridge will be open to cyclists — though if you’re riding your bike over at that time, you may have to hop off briefly to pass.
