Okeanos Restaurant, located at 314 7th Avenue and the corner of 8th Street, has served grilled octopus and other Greek fare on busy stretch for about five years.

But you’ll now have to get that grilled octopus fix elsewhere.

A neighbor recently passed by to let us know they observed restaurant equipment and furniture being removed from the storefront.

A sign has been posted on the front glass that announces its official closing. The sign reads: “Thank you for your kind patronage and support to Okeanos over the past years of operation but we regret to inform you that we have closed down the business.”

Although perhaps never considered one of the neighborhood’s most exemplary restaurants, the restaurant received solid views. Zagat referred to Okeanos as “unremarkable but peaceful.”

We’ll let you know about any new plans for the building.
