EAST NEW YORK – An off-duty NYPD detective was arrested yesterday after flashing his gun during an argument in an Outback Steakhouse.

Joel Crooms, 31, was arrested and charged with menacing and disorderly conduct, said the NYPD. The incident took place at around 11:30 pm on Sunday, November 26 at East New York’s Gateway Center.

Allegedly, the off-duty detective was involved in an argument with another man when he lifted his shirt to reveal his weapon, the NY Post reported.

Detective Crooms was cuffed and given a desk appearance ticket for the incident.
