NYPD Releases Sketch of Rape Suspect
70th Precinct Rape Suspect Sketch

The NYPD just released the above sketch of the suspect in a rape that occurred behind a building near East 27th Street and Glenwood Road on Saturday morning. You can also see a video of the suspect at this post.

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his mid-20s, approximately 5’6″-5’7″ tall, about 160 pounds, with a medium build and bald head. He was last seen wearing a blue Yankees baseball cap with a white brim, and dark gray jacket.

Assemblywoman Rhoda Jacobs sent out an email this afternoon saying that her office has been working with the 70th Precinct to communicate concerns about crime on behalf of residents.

“Our office has learned that progress is being made in the investigation and an arrest is imminent,” she wrote of the rape case, “but specifics are unavailable until the case is closed.”

Even with that bit of hopeful information, anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting your tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. The NYPD says all calls are confidential.
