NYPD Releases Additional Video Of Man Who Vandalized Two Sunset Park Mosques
SUNSET PARK – The NYPD has released another video of the man they are seeking in connection to attacking two Sunset Park mosques with a hammer last Saturday.
At approximately 5:20pm on November 11, police say the suspect used a hammer to smash a video camera and multiple windows at the Beit El-Maqdis Islamic Center located at 6224 6th Avenue (between 62nd & 63rd Streets). He then fled heading east on 62nd Street.
Approximately twenty minutes later, police say the same man used a hammer to destroy the front doorbell, door knob, and mailbox of the United American Muslim Association of New York (Fatih Camii Mosque) located at 5911 8th Avenue (between 59th & 60th Streets), a short distance away from where the first incident took place. He then fled east on 59th Street.
Police describe the suspect as an Asian male.
