NYPD: Help Us Track Down Thief Who Stole Grandmother’s Purse On Ocean Parkway
Police are urging the public to help them track down a man who they say snatched a purse from a wheelchair-bound 98-year-old around 125 Ocean Parkway, near Church Avenue, on June 29. The elderly victim, a grandmother who was being pushed in her wheelchair by a home aide when the theft occurred, has been devastated by the crime and is now afraid to leave her home, the Daily News reported.
“She is very scared,” health aide Rozalia Boloyina told the Daily News. “She doesn’t want to go out side anymore. She is afraid of people.”
According to the NYPD, the suspect rode past the elderly woman and her attendant on a bicycle and grabbed the senior’s purse from her lap and took off around 1 p.m. Police said the thief made off with $400, a Medicare card, and keys to her home.
Here is a video of the suspect, as provided by the NYPD.
