NY Kids Club Sign

The sign for New York Kids Club, the children’s center that took over the space at 125 5th Avenue which was previously occupied by music venue Southpaw, recently popped up, covering over a neat ghost sign that had been hidden above the storefront. And in good news for the neighborhood’s short set, NY Kids Club tells us that they’ll be open the first week of August.

The 5,000-square-foot play space that’s supposed to include “eight premier classrooms, two state-of-the-art gyms, a culinary institute, a dance studio, and an outdoor rooftop play space,” was originally slated for opening in September of 2012, then January of this year, but after some delays (including a stop work order), they’re just about ready to open.

Kimberly Yosslowitz, the location manager for the Park Slope branch, tells us that they will be open for sample classes, tours, and open houses during the first week of August.

The first full semester will begin on September 9 — keep an eye out for the fall schedule, which should be available early next week. They are currently accepting registration for preschool 2013-2014 for 2- and 3-year-olds. Sign up for an open house on Thursday, July 25 here. This will be the first opportunity for families to see the new space.

Families can also start reserving the facility for birthday parties for August 16 and beyond. Bookings can be done online here.
