NY Health Proudly Announces Three New Urologists

New York Health Welcomes the arrival of three highly skilled urologists: Dr. Iván Colón, Dr. Brent Yanke, and Dr. Edward Zoltan. They will be accepting new patients at 175 Remsen Street, Suite 1225, Brooklyn, NY 11201.

Dr. Ivan Colon

Dr. Colón continues to introduce innovations in urology, co-founding the Brooklyn Urology Research Group (BURG), and the technique of cryotherapy to New York. Dr. Colón previously served as Chief of Robotics and Advanced Laparoscopic Urology and was the Local Residency Program Director at New York Methodist Hospital.  He has also been recognized as one of Castle Connelly’s Top Doctors twice, has received the Patients’ Choice Award, and was inducted into the New York Methodist’s Hospital’s Hall of Fame. “I am glad to start at New York Health, as we continue to treat all types of urological and prostate disorders, from cancers to benign diseases, with the latest technology,” said Dr. Colón.

Dr. Brent Yanke

Practicing urology since 2007, Dr. Yanke is heavily involved in urologic robotics, treating more than 1,000 cases throughout Brooklyn and New Jersey. These cases include prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers. Dr. Yanke completed his Residency at SUNY Downstate and then the Bard-Bagley Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. He has trained several students in urology for the past five years. Dr. Yanke has trained urology residents from several programs winning teacher of the year at SUNY Downstate in 2016. “Being experienced in this field, I look forward to the opportunities that NY Health will bring to our patients, and its staff, as it continues to become the premiere source of urology” said Dr. Yanke. His expertise lies in endourologic surgery treating diseases such as uteral, renal pelvis, and bladder cancer as well as prostatic hypertrophy.

Dr. Edward Zoltan

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dr. Zoltan has helped bring state-of-the-art urology to his hometown. He has been heavily involved in the community, being a board member of the Albert Einstein College of Medical Alumni, and also encouraging science at local schools. He has previously served as the Director of Voiding Dysfunction at New York Methodist Hospital for the past eight years. “I am very excited to practice at NY Health as myself and my colleagues will continue to deliver the highest quality care that our patients deserve” said Dr. Zoltan. He also is heavily involved in many urological research projects to deliver more effective patient care.
