Nuteria Being Sued By Nutella

So remember when 5th Avenue was about to get a Nutella-riffic cafe called Nutelleria last fall, but then the opening was delayed, and when they finally did open, the name had been changed to Nuteria? Turns out that was because Nutella wasn’t happy with the name — and, unfortunately, they’re still not.

The chocolate-hazelnut spread’s parent company Ferrero is reportedly suing the local shop, located at 82 5th Avenue, between St Marks and Warren, for monetary damages, according to the Daily News. They also want the name changed, again.

Still, it doesn’t seem to have phased them. They celebrated World Nutella Day (how come nobody told us that was a thing?) yesterday, and, according to their Twitter account, they are apparently keeping it up today.

We’re hoping they can smooth it out like Nutella on warm toast, though, because we’d hate to lose such a tasty neighborhood snacking option.
