If you’ve often had a hankering for chocolates and beer at the same time, you’re about to have just the place to indulge.

Nunu Chocolates Cafe & Tap Room opened this past Friday at 179 5th Avenue, between Lincoln and Berkeley — a storefront that’s seen a number of changes in the past year, going from Caramello to Cafe Sant Edesia to A’Putia. We’ve got a feeling Nunu will stay a while though — the popularity of their chocolates, sold at their flagship store on Atlantic Avenue and in shops around the country, combined with a few drinks, seems like a winning combo.

They’re still getting settled, so the ten taps aren’t flowing quite yet (they’ve got a wine list, as well), but they are dishing up housemade pastries for the first time. Plenty of the items feature their chocolate — cocoa powder in the giant chocolate cinnamon roll, chunks of chocolate in the cookies — but they’ve also got a couple savory options, like a cheese-filled turnover. Plus, there’s Blue Bottle Coffee, so you can enjoy a caffeine jolt along with a bit of a sugar high.

And then, of course, there are the chocolates. There’s definitely a reason they’re so popular — they’re incredibly decadent and delicious — but at $8 for a box of four, you may find they’re best for special occasions. Look out for the “Beer Box” combo pack, which is a selection of chocolates that are made with the very craft beers they’ll have on tap.

Check out the new space and welcome them to the neighborhood — their hours are Monday-Friday 7am-9pm, and Saturday-Sunday 9am-9pm.
