N/Q/R Confusion, The G Goofs Off, And More Subway Service Changes This Weekend

Below you’ll find weekend subway service changes for the A, C, G, B, Q, D, N, R, 2, 3, 4, and 5 lines in Brooklyn, plus the Franklin Avenue shuttle. Check back Monday to see what’s happening next week. Changes via MTA.info.

Through tonight:

No 4 trains between Brooklyn Bridge and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr
Late nights, 11:45pm-5am, Tuesday, December 9 to Friday, December 12

4 service operates in two sections:
1. Between Woodlawn and Brooklyn Bridge, making local stops
2. Between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and New Lots Av, running express between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Franklin Av

For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, take the D or Q. For Lower Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn, take the 2 or N. More info here.

Brighton Beach-bound B trains run local from Prospect Park to Kings Hwy
Days, 9:45am-3pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays, December 10-11 and December 17-18; 9:45am-2pm on Fridays, December 12 and 19

Please allow additional travel time.

Coney Island-bound D trains run via the N from 36 St to Stillwell Av
Days, 9:45am-3pm, Wednesday, December 10 to Friday, December 12

No Coney Island-bound service at 9 Av, Fort Hamilton Pkwy, 50, 55, 71, 79 Sts, 18, 20 Avs, Bay Pkwy, 25 Av and Bay 50 St.

For service to 9 Av, Fort Hamilton Pkwy, 50 and 55 Sts, take the D to New Utrecht Av-62 St and transfer to a Norwood-bound D. For service to 71, 79 Sts, 18, 20 Avs, Bay Pkwy, 25 Av and Bay 50 St, take the D to Stillwell Av and transfer to a Norwood-bound D.

For service from these stations, take the D to 62 St-New Utrecht Av or 36 St and transfer to a Coney Island-bound or N.

Manhattan-bound Q trains run express from Kings Hwy to Prospect Park
Days, 9:45am-3pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays, December 10-11 and December 17-18; 9:45am-2pm on Fridays, December 12 and 19

Trains stop at Newkirk Plaza and Church Av.

For service to Avenue M, Avenue J, Avenue H, Cortelyou, Beverley Rds and Parkside Av, take the Q to Newkirk Plaza, Church Av or Prospect Park and transfer to a Brighton Beach-bound B or Coney Island-bound Q.

For service from these stations, take the B or Q to Church Av, Newkirk Plaza or Kings Hwy and transfer to a Manhattan-bound Q.

Through the weekend:

N trains run via the Q in both directions between DeKalb Av and Canal St
Late nights, 11:45pm on Fridays to 5am Mondays until December 22

No N service at Jay St-MetroTech, Court, Whitehall, Rector, Cortlandt Sts and City Hall. Use nearby 4 stations, then transfer between and trains at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr or 14 St-Union Sq.

Transfer is available between the 4 and N at Canal St after 1am. For Jay St-MetroTech, take the F via transfer at 4 Av-9 St or 34 St-Herald Sq. More info here.

G service operates every 20 minutes between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs
Weekends, 5am-12am, Saturdays and Sundays until December 28

The last stop for alternate trains from Church Av is Bedford-Nostrand Avs.

R trains run via the Q in both directions between DeKalb Av and Canal St
Weekends, Saturdays and Sundays until December 21

No R service at Jay St-MetroTech, Court, Whitehall, Rector, Cortlandt Sts and City Hall. Use nearby 4 stations, then transfer between 4 and R trains at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr or 14 St-Union Sq.

For Jay St-MetroTech, take the F via transfer at 4 Av-9 St or 34 St-Herald Sq. More info here.
