Now Open: The Estaminet

Now Open: The Estaminet
the estaminet at 107A 7th Avenue in park slope

The first new coffee shop coming to 7th Avenue this year has opened, and it’s differentiating itself with crepes.

The Estaminet opened recently at 107A 7th Avenue, on the corner of President Street, in the space that was previously home to Spectacles. As first noted on Here’s Park Slope, this small new cafe is serving up fresh juices and both sweet and savory crepes in addition to espresso drinks.

There are just a few tables squeezed inside, so for those laptop-workers looking for an alternative to the now-closed Tea Lounge, this may not be it. But for sitting with a friend for a chat over coffee and a snack, it could work — and the couple tables and chairs they’ve added outside will be even more attractive for that, once the weather becomes more agreeable.

As for the growing coffee scene on 7th Avenue, a few blocks away we will also soon be getting another coffee shop, when Blue Bottle opens this spring at the corner of 3rd Street.
