Now Open: Marco’s
Marco’s, the Southern Italian-styled restaurant from the team behind Franny’s, opened last week in the space that originally housed Franny’s, at 295 Flatbush Avenue, before the popular pizza restaurant moved up the street to 348 Flatbush Ave.
The chef is Danny Amend, who Eater notes has worked for owners Francine Stephens and Andrew Feinberg for more than six years. Eater’s also got a look at the menu, which, despite the new restaurant having gotten rid of the old pizza oven, still features some wood-grilled items like oysters ($12), lamb chops ($28), and striped bass ($22) (and no, there’s no pizza).
As of this afternoon, four reviews are already posted on Yelp, where people praised the pasta (“…we had were the tagliatelle and the one with clams and mussels, both amazing,” “The pasta was perfection…”), but note that the plates are small and “overpriced” for their size.
So has anyone been yet? What did you think?
