Remember Scaredy Kat – the Park Slope staple for 14 years, and a lifesaver for last minute gifts that closed in 2013? A reader stops by their new location in North Carolina and sends word. We welcome letters to the editor at editor@bklyner.com.

Dear Editor,

My husband and I drove down to the see the 100% Total Eclipse in Greenville, SC this past week. Over the weekend we spent two days in Asheville, NC and while we were there we visited Whist – which used to be the Park Slope based Scaredy Kat –  now the Annie Blue Ribbon space on Fifth between President and Carrol.

For fans of Scaredy Kat – which I am definitely one – I’m happy to report that their business is thriving in Asheville. The city of Asheville mirrors Park Slope so I can see why they picked  the area.

The owners Nora and Damond send their best to their former Park Slope customers and invite them to stop by Whist, if ever in Asheville.

Thanks,
Kim Levering Cummings
