East Flatbush Man Shot to Death at Nostrand Ave and Glenwood Road
EAST FLATBUSH – Police have identified the man shot to death in East Flatbush earlier this week, along with tracking down a surveillance image of his suspected killer, the NYPD confirmed.
The shooting took place just before 3:00 am on Monday, October 8, said police, at the intersection of Nostrand Avenue and Glenwood Road.
Responding to a 911 call, police arrived at the scene to find Jerell Mathis, 39, with a single gunshot wound to his chest.
EMS transported Mathis to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, said police. The victim lived just a few blocks away from the scene of the crime, on Kenilworth Place.
An investigation into the shooting is underway, but no arrests have yet been made.
