Nominate Your Favorite Local Teacher for a Big Apple Award
Are you, or do you have, a student who has an amazing teacher? If you know an educator who deserves some recognition, the New York City Department of Education wants to highlight the great work of some of its best and brightest teachers with the first annual Big Apple Awards.
Current full-time NYC Department of Education and charter school teachers who have demonstrated exceptional success in student learning, instructional practices, and professional contributions are eligible.
Based on the public’s nominations, up to 10 outstanding NYC teachers will be awarded a monetary prize and a classroom grant this June. We know how much that money could mean to some classrooms, so get to nominating! You only have until Wednesday, March 13 to tell them about your favorite teacher.
