Nominate A Neighbor For Their Positive Contributions To The Area
Do you know a someone who’s doing something great in our neighborhood? Nominate them for an award from Community Board 6!
Each year CB6 honors youth and adults “who have made a substantial contribution to improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods through direct action or by serving as a positive role model for others.”
The Youth Acknowledgement Awards are presented to kids ages 10-19 who reside, attend school, or volunteer for some organization serving the CB6 district. The voluntary contribution must have occurred in 2014, and examples of a contribution include tutoring, working on community-based projects, overcoming a personal challenge, and more.
The Robert Acito Award for Youth Involvement, named for the CB6 district manager who served from 1980-1993 and dedicated much of his time on behalf of youth in the area, is given to an adult member of the CB6 community who has demonstrated a similar sense of purpose.
