No Sundays or Mondays for Brooklyn Bike Patrol in February

Heads up, South Slope. The winter months tend to be a bit slow for the guys over at the Brooklyn Bike Patrol. As a result, they are closing shop on Sundays and Mondays for the remainder of February. They’ll be back to their regular 7 days a week schedule in March.

In light of some recent muggings that have occurred in our area, if you are walking at night, try to have a buddy walk with you. If you have no choice but to walk alone, especially if you’re on the quieter residential streets, remain aware of your surroundings, keep those cell phone and iPods stashed until you get home, and use that few extra minutes to ponder the impending drunk dial to your ex-boyfriend/girlfriend. Hopefully, you’ll have come to your senses by then. If not, there’s an app for that.
